Boys are genetically programmed to prefer Bob the Builder to Barbie dolls, say scientists. Tests involving children as young as three months suggest biological differences and not social pressures dictate which toys children like to play with.

Am not sure about this. When our twin boys went round to a girl's house they would (age 18-24 months) quite happily push her dolly round in a pram. They also - still - love the colour pink.
We have, however, noticed that they love cars and bikes and "bob the builder" toys far more than the girl next door (their age) does. So maybe there is some truth in this?
